Mountain Lion tracks have a diameter approximately the size of a baseball. The front prints tend to be wider than they are long while the hind prints are longer than they are wide. Though they obviously have claws, claw marks are rarely present. The toes form a slight arc and the interdigital pad has two lobes.
Mountain lions typically walk, leaving a stride of about 36 inches (90 cm). When chasing prey, mountain lions tend to bound using their hind feet, leaving prints that are side by side.
