Grizzly bear tracks are distinctive for their large size. Claw marks on the front foot can be up to 1.5 times as long as the toes. The hind foot print resembled a wide human footprint with a very pronounced heel.

The walking stride of a grizzly bear is approximately 50-60 inches (125-150 cm). Bears typically will walk quickly at times leaving a track where the hind foot oversteps the front one slightly. The bear gait is also usually pigeon-toed. The track can have a C-shape to it when the bear lopes.
