Collared peccaries have cloven hooves on all four feet with tracks that are 1 to 2 inches long. Stride is 6 to 10 inches, with hind hooves usually registering in front tracks. Despite their similarities to pigs, collared peccaries comprise their own Artiodactyl suborder by having two dewclaws on the forefeet, one on the hind feet; true swine have two dewclaws on all four feet.
