Can dogs eat turnip greens?

Yes, dogs can eat turnip greens, but it’s not a good idea, especially if you have a dog diagnosed with hyperthyroidism.

Though packed with vitamins B6 and C, turnip greens also contain a compound called goitrogens, which disrupts the production of thyroid hormones by interfering with iodine uptake in the thyroid gland.

For healthy dogs, a small amount of turnip greens as an occasional treat should not be a problem. However, for some dogs the vegetable should be avoided.

Cucumber, carrots, and green beans are each guilt-free options that are healthy for dogs.
