Bones can splinter and become easily lodged in a dog’s throat. If your dog begins to choke, it’s vital to look in their mouth instantly and pull out any visible obstruction. If you cannot see what is causing the problem, pull the dog’s tongue slightly forward (not too aggressively) and it may help you see the object.
If you still cannot see the problem, you will likely need to perform a canine Heimlich maneuver to force the bone out of their throat.
In the end, it’s better to never give you dog a beef bone to avoid all the potentially lethal problems.
