Can dogs eat bananas?

Yes, but only in moderation. Great sources of potassium, vitamins, fiber, carbohydrates, copper, and biotin, bananas are also low in sodium and cholesterol.

Bananas aren’t perfect, however, they do have a high natural sugar content so they should be given as a treat or dessert, not as part of your dog’s daily diet.

They also have seeds that can cause problems for your dog’s digestion. While it may be difficult to remove the seeds, the safest way to give bananas to your dog is to remove all seeds, stems, leaves, and outer casing. Those parts are not good for dogs, but the white, sweet fruit is a nice treat.

Try them frozen or mashed up if your dog doesn’t take to the raw banana at first.
